Shri Biswabhusan Harichandan
Governor of Andhra Pradesh

 
The union government appointed Biswabhushan Harichandan as the new governor of Andhra Pradesh.
 
Biswabhushan Harichandan is a senior BJP leader from Odisha.
 
He was born on August 3, 1934 and elected as MLA for five times. His political career started with Bharatiya Jana Sangh in the year 1971. He worked as national executive member and state general secretary in Jana Sangh till the formation of Janata Party in 1977.
 
He was detained under Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA) during emergency period. Biswabhushan studied LLB and practised as lawyer. He joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after its formation and worked as state president from 1980 to 1988. He again joined in Janata Party in the year 1988 and became state vice president. Later he in 1996, he joined BJP again.
 
He won as MLA from Chilika constituency for two times and won three times to the state assembly from Bhubaneswar.
