Faculty member/Course Coordinator in Food Engineering for M.Sc.(Food Tech.) at CFTRI (No of batches - 9, No. of students - around 200). Guided 5 students for their thesis/dissertation works. Conducted Courses like Fruit Juice Concentration at CFTRI and Tea Manufacture at Tata Tea. Published 25 papers in reputed National and International journals, presented 15 papers in National/International symposia and filed 6 Patents (5 India & one US).

Awards and Achievements

AFST(I) Conferred 'Fellow of Association of Food Scientists and Technologists' for the outstanding contributions made in the area of Food Science and Technology (2005).

Research Projects Implemented

Actively associated in the development of Technical Know-how for many new products/processes (about 25) at CFTRI/ Tata Tea and lot of them (more than10) were commercialized.

Involved in about 15 consultancy assignments out of which 3 were turnkey projects. Prepared number of Project/Technical reports.

Streamlined the Scale up methods at CFTRI and initiated basic work on engineering properties of Foods.

While at Tata Tea, established Pilot Plants and Laboratories and initiated work on new product development. Streamlined the all agricultural practices of Tea bases on Scietific inputs.

Foreign Universities Visited

Visited many International Organisations (USA, UK, Germany, Belgium, Brussels, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, Kenya, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand) for interactions on R&D and other related matters.

Other Responsibilities

Member of Research Advisory Council for Institute of Himalayan Bio-resource Technology, Palampur (1998-2001), Member of Technical Committee for Tea - Bureau of Indian Standard(1995-2005). Member (2001) and chairman (2002) of Technical Committee - Indian Tea Association. Member of engineering committee – TRA(1998-2002). Member of editorial boards for the Journal of Food Science and Technology and Indian Food Industry (1989).

President, Association of Food Scientists and Technologists, India (2005). Conceived, designed and organized National Work series on Value Addition to Foods involving Food Ministry, Industry and academic institutions.
